Tabôa, together with community leaderships and other local actors, has been developing intervention techniques within the context of the pandemic to minimize the impacts of coronavirus in the community of Serra Grande (Uruçuca, Bahia) and its surroundings.

As part of this joint effort, as an emergency, we are mobilizing resources to buy and distribute basic food baskets and cleaning products to the most affected families.  The deliveries have already began thanks to the donations made by partners, such as the Arapyau Institute.

Your donaton will help us go on supporting the ones who feel the effects of the pandemic at the table.

The South of Bahia is a region that houses one of the richest biodiversity in the planet, despite its fragile social indicators.  For example, the Municipal Human Development Index in Uruçuca, is of 0.616, below the average of the state, according to the data of the 2013 Brazil Atlas (PNUD).

This situation is even more serious in the present context of the pandemic, whose impacts can already be felt by the populations living in Serra Grande and its surroundings.  Families are facing situations of extreme social vulnerability, without being able to ensure the means of subsistence and to meet their basic needs, such as food.
